Why Be Apart of the Lead Summer Experience

Lead U. Summer Camp is a 3-day creative leadership experience designed to spark purpose, passion, and engagement in students ages 13–23. Hosted at Camp College, this immersive program blends leadership development, entrepreneurship, and hands-on training in media, arts, and design. With sessions led by nationally recognized speakers, creators, and business leaders, students will engage in workshops, team challenges, and real-world projects that empower them to lead with confidence and creativity.

The camp culminates with a powerful day trip to Regent University's School of Communications and CBN Studios in Virginia Beach, offering students a behind-the-scenes look at careers in media and storytelling. From public speaking and cartoon creation to AI-driven business pitches and branding workshops, Lead U. is more than a summer camp—it’s a launchpad for young visionaries ready to lead, create, and inspire.

Jodie Walton is the founder of Bridging The Gap Urban Ministries and a creative branding strategist who leads a design company working with major public figures, events, and organizations in marketing and branding. His passion bridges purpose and impact through mentorship and urban outreach.

Travis Parker serves as the Camp College Upward Bound Director and a trusted Lead U Advisor. With years of experience in student development, Travis is dedicated to guiding young leaders as they explore education, leadership, and life beyond the classroom.

Our Schedule

The Lead U. Summer Camp schedule is designed to provide a dynamic mix of inspiration, creativity, and real-world experience. Each day includes interactive workshops, engaging guest speakers, and collaborative activities focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and the arts. Day One

Camp College Suffolk Campus

DAY 1  

Day One features next-level inspiration from powerhouse communicators and creatives. Students will learn how to master their voice and influence with Jada Roberts, and explore bold leadership in sports and community with Eric Benton. They'll also dive into creativity with a hands-on animation session led by Horace Christian, the creator of the Dex Davis cartoon series—showing how faith, storytelling, and design can be used to impact culture.

Creator of the Dex Davis cartoon series, Horace brings students into the world of storytelling and animation, guiding them through a hands-on mini camp where they’ll create characters and brainstorm their own faith-inspired cartoon concepts.

DAY TWO

On Day Two, students will engage with dynamic speakers who bring real-world insight and inspiration. From a creative content producer working with NSU Football, to the visionary founder of a campus ministry Bridging The Gap, and a former ESPN and Amazon marketing professional, each session is designed to show students how life skills—like discipline, communication, and leadership—can open doors to success in sports, media, and business.
